Obituary … John J. “Rocky” Zagrocki, Jr., died Friday, March 30, 2018

WEBSTER – John J. “Rocky” Zagrocki, Jr., died Friday, March 30, 2018 in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence after an illness. 

He leaves his wife of 50 years, Patricia G. “Patty” (Androlewicz) Zagrocki; a son, Chad Zagrocki and his companion Jenna Rollins; and his mother-in-law, Theresa E. (Maciejewski) Androlewicz , all of Webster; nephews, nieces and many friends. He was preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Vanessa Pieper and Deborah Kelly. 

He was born in Webster, the son of John I. Zagrocki, Sr. and Josephine (Janusz) Zagrocki., and spent his early years in Chicago before moving back to Webster. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1959 and completed studies at Springfield Technical College. 

Mr. Zagrocki worked at Rogers Corporation in Rogers, CT for 37 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2003. 

Rocky was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica. He was a life member of the Killdeer Island Club, serving as its president for 17 years. Talented at construction, he built his own home as well as other houses, all as a hobby. In his early 20’s, he travelled all over the United States before he married. 

A funeral will be held Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00 AM in Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. Visiting hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, April 3, in the funeral home and again from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, prior to the service. Donations in his memory may be made to the Killdeer Island Club, 191 Killdeer Island Road, Webster, MA 01570. Arranngements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
